"SYC wins Challenge Cup for the NINTH consecutive time! We also broke another record by winning every single class. Rougarou with Andy Lovell and Burt put on a show winning Class A handily; John Alden Meade on Dansoux won Class B; Patrick Ryan, with Olympian Johnny Lovell and Norman Vallette won Class C on Burt Benrud’s Demitasse; and SYC’s very own Bruja won Class D with Cardwell Potts. This could not have been done without the help of RIB drivers Fred Tuhro, Tom Long, Guy Brierre, and helper Jessica Ryan. Potter and Faye Ballard were instrumental by allowing SYC to use Native Son as the team boat. Commodore Merlin Wilson and Al Gooch helping with Scoring, and Shawn and Lundy Ryan hosted to party on Friday night in Pass Christian. It was definitely a Team Effort!"
