SYC is located on the southern shore of Lake Pontchartrain appx. 3 miles west of the mouth of the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal (or "Industrial Canal"), which is the nearest outlet to the Intra-Coastal Waterway. The Lake may also be approached via The Rigolets (see NOAA Chart 11371).
The clubhouse overlooks the mouth of the Municipal Yacht Harbor and the adjacent New Basin Canal, which leads south to the Orleans Marina. The historic New Canal Lighthouse, with its red roofs, was destroyed by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, but is currently being rebuilt just across the canal from SYC.
Temporary guest dockage is available along the pier and bulkhead to the west of the clubhouse. SYC does not offer fuel or ramp-launch facilities.
Fuel & provisions are available on the New Basin Canal. A municipal boat launch is located outside of the breakwater, to the west of the harbor entrance.
SYC monitors VHF channel 68 with the call-sign "Bunkhouse".

Follow I-10 East towards New Orleans. Bear left at Exit 230 onto I-610 East and immediately bear right at Exit 1A to West End Blvd. Continue north on West End Blvd. until you cross Robert E. Lee Blvd. (West End Blvd. becomes Lakeshore Dr.) Take the first left onto Lake Marina Dr. Follow Lake Marina Dr. over the levee and turn right at West End Park (South Roadway). Continue around the end of the park and bear to the right. SYC is directly ahead.

From I-10 West, take Exit 231B to West End Blvd. Continue north on West End Blvd until you cross Robert E. At the next stoplight, West End Blvd./Lakeshore Dr., turn right and immediately turn left onto Lake Marina Dr. Follow Lake Marina Dr. over the levee and turn right at West End Park (South Roadway). Continue around the end of the park and bear to the right. SYC is directly ahead.
