Team SYC put their stamp on NYYC's 175th celebration
NEWPORT, R.I. — Skipper Andy Lovell and the Team SYC crew have won the most competitive test yet of the brand new IC37 Class commissioned by New York YC for their prestigious Invitational Cup challenge. Twenty-one of the Melges-branded IC37's were on the line; only twenty will compete in the Invitational Cup, itself. Thursday — Postponement ashore in the morning, then two races today.  It was down, then up for Team SYC, who are now effectively one point out of second and 10 points behind the leader.  After 7 races, SYC is the only team with more than one race win.

Thursday Morning — After 5 races, Team SYC sit in fourth place, 2 points out of second and 9 points from the lead.  Given the light-air forecast, the 5-day regatta is near its halfway point, but with plenty of racing left.
