Murray Wins Big at NYYC Race Week
NEWPORT, R.I. - Stephen Murray Jr., sailing his Carkeek HPR40, DECISION, won a hard-fought comeback victory at New York YC's annual Race Week presented by Rolex. Murray, sailing under both SYC & NYYC colors, bested the IRC 2 class on his way to overall honors in the 25-boat IRC fleet. (more)

In just the second race of the eight-race, no-throwout series, a lifeline snapped just before the weather mark and DECISION had to fish three crew from the sea before sailing on to a disappointing sixth place finish.  Despite winning two of their first five races, they would not lead in the scores again until reeling off back-to-back wins in Races 6 & 7.  From there, the team held off the stiff competition for the victory.
The comeback efforts paid off doubly, as DECISION also topped the overall IRC fleet.  Murray was awarded one of the regatta's three trophy Rolex watches for the notable win.
