Team Racers mix it up in Newport

NEWPORT, R.I. (August 2014) - Southern's team racers made their annual summer excursion to Newport with mixed results.  First, was the Morgan Cup which is New York Yacht Club's premier team race event.  Suffice it to say that Team SYC finished near the top ten.  Next came the Hinman Masters, where the 45-and-up skippers and 40+ crew had a bit more success, finishing sixth of eleven teams.  SYC sailors finally reached the podium in the NYYC Grandmasters, where the 55+ skippers & 45+ crew took third place in the eight team field.  Click here for more info and results.
