Good news on The Dip
Good news for Southern Yacht Club and its members: The Dip is about to be fixed. Construction starts Monday March 5 and will last about eight months. Be on the lookout for detours as you make the turn over the levee while construction is in progress, shifting traffic in both directions to one side of West Roadway or the other. The project will replace the old drainage and utilities under the street, while the sump pump that has drained The Dip the past year will remain in place during construction. The Flood Protection Authority—East of the Orleans Levee District is funding the street repair project. This should eliminate the uncertainty of whether you can make it to the club for your favorite delicacies from Chef James or your favorite beverages at the 1849 Bar! See you at the club.
