SYC Wins Hinman Masters Team Race
NEWPORT, R.I. — After 14 attempts spanning 17 years, SYC team racers have finally won the New York YC's prestigious Hinman Masters Invitational Team Race. SYC's John Alden Meade recounted their path to victory, "Sunday was super windy, and we were faster and had better boathandling. We were able to get the error rate down low enough to barely make it into the final four [as the #4 seed], and then went the distance against the #1 seed Seawanhaka Corinthian YC (2–1), then in the finals against #2 seed Noroton YC (3–2). Came down to the final race. It was thrilling." Click thru for more.
