Buddy Friedrichs to Hall of Fame
NEWPORT, R.I. — The National Sailing Hall of Fame has announced the class of 2019, which will include Southern Yacht Club's first honoree, G. Shelby "Buddy" Friedrichs Jr. Friedrichs, 1941–1991, is best known for winning the Olympic Gold Medal at the 1968 Mexico games, in the Dragon Class. His Olympic crew included Barton Jahncke and Gerald "Click" Schreck. The NSHOF induction ceremony will be held at Seattle YC on November 9, 2019. Click image for press release.
